Not too much you can really do about that...it is a hardware limitation. Sad

So there is no driver compatible with VIA/SG3 Unichrome IGP that can run 43hz refresh rate, so that i become able to use 1024x768?

I'd get a SiS VGA card... they usually had 87i support... But my S3 Savage does as well...

Arminius, are you sure that you would use 43hz refresh rate?

At this low frequency, I think you can't watch the screen with peace for your eyes... the screen blinks!

If your board will allow you to override the on-board graphics hardware with a graphics board, then you will probably get around both of the following:

* You have a much better chance of supporting the resolutions and frequencies you want to run.
* You have a much better chance of supporting refresh rates higher than 43hz at 1024*768. I agree that 43hz will be very unpleaseant to the eyes to watch.

Another thing that you could do is:

look if it's possible to add memory IC's on the board: more boards have free memory chip sockets that you can fill with the appropriate chip so you can extend the total of video memory.

In this case I think it's possible use a refresh rate higher than 43hz at 1024*768!

It's an old Post. But maybe it's help u or other with the same Problem.
