I'm upgrading a HP d5000t, the bios is locked up tight..( Looking to try to clock the cpu and Mem ) I cant access anything in the bios for the cpu and Memory, anyone know if theres a bios flash to get me more access? Sorry for the noob questions... I'm new and learning!! Shocked
My system:
HP d5000t
Vista 64
Q9550 Quad @ 2.83 MHz
PC Power and Cooler 850W
8 GB OCZ Ram 800 MHz ( upgrading these )
1GB 9800GT ( upgrading this )
2 500GB Seagate 32MB HDD's ( in RAID 0 )
1000GB Seagate 32MB HD
2 Samsung opticals DVD-RW

If you want the CPU to run faster you should have bought a faster laptop. You can't overclock these babies because you can't get the extra heat out properly...

There's usually no way to overclock an OEM board. Better get a decent retail board but make sure the RAID-Controller is the same or you may have to recreate your RAID-system (backup data before changing motherboard)

where's ones coffee when you need one... thanks for the heads-up. Even so, it is an OEM-board that is designed to work as cheaply as possible to make, not to be tweaked.
